The Time Our Grill Cought On Fire

One time my family was planning on having chicken for dinner. My mom makes it a really special way where she puts it on the grill instead of just in the oven. She went outside to get the grill started. She tried many times but the grill didn’t light. She decided to turn the gas tank underneath on to see if that would help. She turned on the gas tank and started to throw matches in.
The next thing we knew our grill was on fire. The gas tank had caught on fire. We were really scared that it would blow up so my mom pulled it away from our house. She told us to call 911 and so my sister grabbed the phone and dialed. She gave the phone to my mom so that she could talk. My mom told them the situation and so they said that they would come right away.
We all decided to go wait out side just incase something did happen before the firemen came. So my mom, sister, dog and I were all waiting out side. The fire trucks came a few minutes later. My dog was howling when she heard the fire trucks. In front of our house there were three fire trucks, four police cars, and a couple of ambulances. The first fire truck told all the other people to go home because they would be enough to get the fire out.
So four firemen and my mom went into the back yard were the fire was. The fire men put out the fire and told us it was a good thing that we called. We were all safe and well. We went out back to see what the damage was. We saw that the gas tank had been disconnected so they could put out the fire. We were all safe but we still need a new grill.

My Amazing Summer

This summer was so much fun. The first week after school got out, I went to a basketball camp at Yorktown for a week. Then in July I did a drama camp at Williamsburg. That camp was for a month and we put on the play The Wizard of Oz. After that we just kind of chilled for a while. On August 18 my sister and I went to a Jonas Brothers concert with a couple of friends. That was probably my favorite part of my summer. It was defiantly an experience that I would like to have again.
About two weeks later, we went to my grandma and grandpa’s house in Ohio. In an Indian language that they speak, grandma is Nani and grandpa is Nana. My mom and my dad dropped me and my sister off for a week. We did a lot of things but the thing we did the most was shopping. We actually got a lot of exercise when we were at the mall. Then, after a week was over, we went home.
About another two weeks later, we went back to our grandparent’s house. This time it was for their 50th wedding anniversary. We got to see all of our cousins again. I thought that it was really fun. My sister and I even got to be in the ceremony. I had a really great time this summer and I hope that next summer will be even better!
