The big Trip

"But Daddy! Why can't I get a puppy? All I have at home is 30 fish, 14 birds, 9 dogs, 8 cats, 3 monkeys, 25 hamsters, 4 guinea pigs, and 17 mice! I want a puppy!" 15 year old Lizzie complained to her father.

"But honey, you already have so many pets. Why do you need another one?" her very exasperated father said.

Lizzie is 15 and is turning 16 in less than a month. She wanted her birthday party to be perfect. Her father is an architect. Lizzie lives in a mansion in South Carolina. Her mother owns a hospital. Her family is very wealthy.

"Daddy, I want another pet. It's my birthday month. You're supposed to get me what ever I want!" Lizzie said looking longingly at the little brown puppy sitting in the window. "Look at his eyes! They're so big and round and brown."

Lizzie finally convinced her dad and walked home with a new puppy in her arms. When she got home she got a brand new cage out of the closet. She cleaned it out and put her new puppy inside.

"Now what should I name you?" Lizzie sat there for a while deciding on what to name her puppy. "How about Coco?" The puppy barked and wagged its tail. " You like that name don't you?" She took Coco out of her cage and gave her a big hug. Then her dad called her down stairs for dinner.

Soccer Star chapter 5

Mary woke up and didn't recognize where she was. Then she remembered that she was in that man's house. She opened her eyes just a little bit. She tried to sit up but felt something weighing her down. She lifted her head but saw nothing. Again she tried to sit up. This time she succeeded. She noticed that she was on a bed, kind of like a hospital bed. She looked around but only saw lots of machines.

"I must be in a hospital." she thought, still looking around. She had never been in a hospital before. It was something completely new to her. She had heard lots of them, and had seen them before, but she had never been the actual patient. Then she heard footsteps. She quickly laid back down, but not fast enough.

"You're awake. Good now we can begin treatment." The man who had kidnapped her said.

"Treatment? What treatment? I'm not getting any treatment." Mary said in a worried voice.

"Oh, but you are. We have planned something really special for you." The man said. Mary was scared and didn't know what they were going to do to her. The man took out a knife. Mary closed her eyes and started to pray. Then she was ready. When nothing happened she opened her eyes. She saw him heating the knife over a cigarette lighter. He took her hand and put the knife in her palm. It burned. He closed her fingers around it and held them there.

Mary's eyes were burning in pain. Then she was saved. Five police men (and one woman) broke the door down. The man dropped her hand and tried to run. Mary's parents ran in and picked her up. Then looked at her hand and saw that it was burnt. They were all crying, happy to be reunited again. The men that had kidnapped her all were sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole. Mary was taken home and her burns were carefully treated. She was so happy to be home again.

When Mary was feeling better, her parents had a talk with her. Her mother was crying so she couldn't talk. Instead her father took over.

"Mary how did this happen?" Her father (Mark) asked.

"I...I met this guy online. His name was Soccer Star and he said that he was my age. I talked to him and told him stuff." Mary said sobbing again.

"What kind of stuff?" Mark asked.

"Like what school I go to and...that I play basketball..and my number on the team." Mary answered.

"Mary, you don't tell people that you don't know that kind of information." Susan (her mother) said.

"I didn't know that he wasn't really a girl my age. I'm sorry." Mary cried to them. Her face was covered in tears and her nose was all red. Mary walked up to her room and closed the door. She sat on her bed and just cried. She was there for about half an hour.

Mary never forgot that day that she was taken. The moral of this story is never talk to people online that you don't know. Don't let them lure information out of you. Be careful.

Michelle Gardner-Quinn

It was over as soon as it had started. I cried and cried but I knew that nothing I could do would bring her back. Michelle was an environmentalist, which meant that she really cared about the Earth. She would do all she could to help it. When I woke up that morning, my mom had said that she was in the paper. I went over and looked at the article. I thought that the article would be for something good. After I read that little clip in the news paper, I was totally changed. Michelle Gardner- Quinn had been abducted, which meant that she was kidnapped. I just stood there in complete shock. I have heard of instances where people had been kidnapped, but I never thought that it would happen to someone that I knew.

Michelle was walking home to her campus dorm at night all alone. She borrowed a cell phone from a stranger. A jewelry store surveillance camera caught Michelle walking with the man (the owner of the cell phone). A few days later they found her lifeless body stuffed in a rock crevice by Hunting Gorge in Richmond, Vermont. They took an autopsy (the medical examination of a dead body in order to establish the cause and circumstances of the death). They found that she had been sexually assaulted, beaten, and strangled.

I knew Michelle very well. She was a close friend of mine. She actually taught me how to swim. She was an amazing person. When ever I was around her, I always got shy. Now, looking back, I wish that I would have been more outgoing around her. Just enough to become closer to her. I think that, if anyone, she was the one who really deserved to live a good life. Maybe if she was still alive today, the world would be a better place.

I didn't go to her funeral because I would have been to sad. My mom, dad, and sister went though. They said that it was definitely sad, and that I would not have liked it. The news is that the man who killed Michelle has been sentenced to a life in jail with no chance of parole. In Vermont I don't think that the death sentence is allowed. So this man has to spend the rest of his days in a dirty old prison. The man who did this horrible thing to Michelle has 3 children and I think a wife as well.

I really miss Michelle. She was an amazing person. I will always remember Michelle. I think that everyone will. She is one of those people who you could never forget, in a good way of course.

Soccer Star Chapter 4

The man threw Mary out of the van. Mary looked up and saw a big house very well taken care of. She felt a sudden pain in her arm. She looked down and saw that her arm was bleeding. When the man threw her out of the car she must have scraped it on the sidewalk. He picked her up by the arm and dragged her into the house.

When she went into the house she looked up.

"Wow." She said in amazement. The walls were lined with very expensive looking paintings and there were crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.

"Don't tell anyone about this. OK?" The man said practically yelling.

"Why not?" Mary asked, scared half to death.

"Just don't." The man said. He dragged her up the stairs and into a small room. The room had very bad lighting and there was no furniture in it. He just shoved her onto the concrete floor.

"Ouch! That hurt." Mary said looking down at her leg to make sure that it wasn't bleeding.

"Oh stop complaining." The man said. He closed the door and left. Everything went black. Mary got accustomed to the dark. She stood up and walked over to a tiny window. Then she smelled something. She looked down and thought that she saw something in the shape of a body.

"Its probably just a blanket." She thought, a little scared. She stood up on a bench and looked out the window. She remembered that she had her cell phone in her pocket. She reached down and into her pocket. She didn't fell her phone. "Oh man! It probably fell out when the guy pulled me out onto the porch."

Then she saw a latch on the window and tried to open it. It wouldn't budge. Frustrated, she walked back to the corner that she was thrown in and sat down. She started crying.

"What am I going to do? I don't want to stay here forever. I want to go back to my family." She was sobbing now. She was scared and didn't know what to do. Suddenly the door opened. Mary jumped, and closed her eyes at the bright light. There was a flash of light then....darkness.

Soccer Star Chapter 3

"But that's impossible." Mary said in disbelief. "Soccer Star is a girl my age. She goes to Washington Lee. She told me that."

"That was me pretending to be a girl that goes to Washington Lee."

"But..how did you find me?"

"After you told me that you went to Yorktown, that you played basketball, and that your number is 7, I looked you up on the Internet. I found you easily." Mary looked down and saw something shining in the mans hands. "Now, get in the van." The man said.

"NO!" Mary screamed. She tried to slam the door shut but the man was faster. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her out onto the porch. "STOP IT! SOMEONE HELP ME! PLEASE, ANYONE! HELP!" Mary tried to scream. The man covered her mouth with his hand.

"Its no use. No one can hear you." The man told her. Mary's parents worked late and wouldn't be home until later. Mary had no choice. She knew that the man was stronger than her and could easily hurt her. She went with him. He shoved her into his van and they started to drive. As the man had pulled Mary out onto the porch, her cell phone had fallen out. Now she had no way of calling the police or contacting her home.

When Mary's parents got home, they noticed that her cell phone was just lying on the porch. They walked inside, and started to call Mary's name.

"Mary?" Her mom called walking up to her bedroom. "Mary we're home. Please come out of..." Mary's mom stopped as she realized that Marys door was open. She walked into Mary's room. Nobody was in the room. Mary's backpack was lying on the floor. "Mark, Mary isn't in her room. Is she downstairs?"

"No honey, Mary isn't down here either." Mary's dad replied. Mary's parents searched the house only to find that Mary wasn't there.

"Mark, call the police, I think something is wrong." Susan (Mary's mom) said. They called the police and in about 10 minutes, two police cars arrived. The police men asked Mark and Susan a few questions about Mary. Susan said that the last time that she had seen Mary was that morning. The police got a picture of Mary from her parents, and with all the information needed, they left.

"I hope that they find her soon." Susan asked in tears.

"They will honey, don't you worry. If they don't find her soon enough, then I will look for her my self."

Soccer Star Chapter 2

Mary was walking home from school one day and she thought that she heard something following her. She turned around but saw nothing. She started to walk again. When she reached her house, she stepped onto the porch. She looked back but didn't see anyone. She walked inside and made sure to lock all the doors and windows just in case someone was following her. She went into her bedroom and looked out her window that looked onto the street. Then suddenly she saw something move behind a bush.

"Its probably just a squirrel." She thought. She went on to do her homework. Then she heard a knock on the door. She went over to the door and looked out the little window that looked onto her porch. Mary's friend had told her that she was going to come over so Mary thought that is was her. Mary's vision was blurred when she looked out the window, so she wasn't quite sure it was her friend. She opened the door and saw a man standing there.

"Hi I'm Soccer star."

Soccer Star chapter 1

Have you ever had an experience that you wanted to forget but never could? Well that is exactly how Mary, a sixteen year girl, felt the day that she thought could have been the worst day ever. Here is what happened.
Mary was home alone so she decided to go on the computer. She logged on to her email and started to look through her inbox. Just then an invitation to chat popped up. She looked at the name but didn't recognize it. She thought that it was just one of her friends so she accepted the invitation. Then the person started to chat with her.

Mary16: Hey, what's up?

soccer star: Not much just talking to some of my friends. How are you?

Mary16: I am really good thanks. What school do you go to?

soccer star: I go to Washington Lee high school. Where do you go?

Mary16: I go to Yorktown.

soccer star: Do you play any sports?

Mary16: Ya, I play basketball. On my team I am number 7. Do you play anything?

soccer star: I play basketball also! Well I also play a little soccer, as you can probably tell. That is so cool. Maybe we will play against each other sometime.

Mary and soccer star continued their conversation. They talked quite a bit. They shared what music they liked and all sorts of other things. When Mary got on the Internet again the next day, soccer star was logged in.

soccer star: Hi! It's nice to talk to you again. How have you been?

Mary16: I have been good thanks. How have you been?

Soccer star replied and they talked and talked. Mary really felt as if she was connecting to this other 16 year old girl. But Mary didn't know that this was no 16 year old girl. It was a grown man. This man had been watching her for quite some time. He looked up the address of her school and found the days that they had basketball practice. He had gone to Yorktown and watched number 7 play. He took pictures of her, looked her up on the computer and soon he had all the information he needed.

Nick Jonas

O..M..G!! Did you hear I'm dating a Jonas Brother? Its so hot!

Most teenage girls absolutely LOVE the Jonas Brothers. I am one of those girls. Some girls like them just because they are cute. I personally like them because they are good at singing and they really know how to put on a good show, and because they are cute. Out of the three of them Nick Jonas has to be my favorite! Wait a second, I shouldn't say three, I should say four! Some people might forget about Frankie the youngest one. He actually turned 8 this year. Kevin Jonas (Paul Kevin Jonas) is the oldest. Then comes Joe. After Joe comes NICK. Then last but definitely not least Frankie. Did you know that Nick Jonas has diabetes? I think that is so sad. He has to be really strong to get through life with that. Thats all for now!!

Ginger the Cookie Part 4 (the end)

Ginger fell a long way down. When she landed, she landed on something soft and cushion like. She looked around. She was in a sea of blue. When she looked a little harder and sat up, she saw that she was in the sky.
“I must be dreaming.” Ginger thought. She looked down and saw that she had landed on a cloud. On the cloud there was a little door just her size. She opened the door and smelled something familiar. She recognized the smell of ginger. She looked around and saw a very large man baking something. Then she realized that she recognized the old mans face. It was The Muffin Man. She was so happy to see him again. But then a thought came to her. She wasn’t ready to go home quite yet. She hadn’t had the amount of exploration she wanted to have yet.

She decided to close the door and jump to another cloud. She did just that. She jumped to the cloud below her. She opened the door that was on that cloud. When she opened the door, a huge amount of snow and rain blew into her little face. She shut the door and almost fell off the cloud. She looked down and saw that there were no more clouds below her. She looked to her left and to her right and saw that there were clouds just within her reach. She jumped and landed on a thin cloud and almost fell through. She stopped herself just in time by grabbing the door knob.
She opened it and saw a little house. She stepped through the door. She saw a little cat and decided to go over to it. She went over and the cat lifted its head. The cat stared at Ginger through glassy eyes. Its nose was small and pink. Its ears were black with white tips. It was a big fat black cat. It looked at Ginger and she was ready to run away if at anytime the cat decided to attack. But the cat just sat there. It didn’t do anything to Ginger. It just sat there. Then Ginger noticed something, its paw was all red. She saw a little needle from some sort of tree in its little paw.
“Oh, you poor thing, let me help you with that.” Ginger took the paw into her hands. The paw was heavy for Ginger because it was almost as big as her. Ginger calmed the animal by talking to it in a very kind voice. While Ginger was talking to the animal, she pulled the thorn out from its paw. The cat whimpered a little bit then started liking its paw. It was bleeding a little bit but Ginger was sure that it would be ok.
Ginger went out the way that she came into that little world. She went behind the little rock that had the door in it. But when she got there, the door was gone. She looked around in panic. She went over to all the rocks that were around it, no door. Now Ginger panicked. How was she supposed to get back to the clouds? Now she wanted to go home. She saw a rock that she had never seen before. She went over to it. She looked all around it and saw a little door on it.
“Hmm” Ginger thought. “I wonder where this door goes.” She opened the door and suddenly she was sucked into the door. Ginger opened her eyes in the “black hole”. All she saw was black. Then suddenly she was thrown down into a little bush. She woke up and found something familiar about the place. She saw a little road with a sign on it. The sign said Dreary Lane.
“Wow,” Ginger said to herself “that was quite an adventure

Ginger the cookie Part 3

Ginger woke up in a world of black. She looked around and saw a little light coming from a few feet away. She went over to it. She looked in it and found out that she was sideways. She decided to take a risk and jump. She jumped and landed on her little cookie head.
“Ouch…where am I?’’ Ginger thought. She looked around but noticed nothing. She couldn’t figure it out. She thought that the portal went to the world that she came from. She got up and started to walk around. She saw a big man sitting in a chair and went up to him.

“Please sir, could you tell me where I am?” She asked him.

“Why of course, you are in the castle in the sky.” The man replied.

“The castle in the sky? What is that?” Ginger asked very confused.

“The castle in the sky is where you go when you jump through an unknown portal. The only way to get out of this world is when you learn your lesson.”

“Learn my lesson? But I don’t have a lesson to learn.” Ginger said as if she was perfect.

“Oh but you do,” the old man said thoughtfully, “you just have to find it.” Ginger walked away very confused. She didn’t think that she had any lessons to learn. Oh well she would try to figure something out. She had to get out of this place and go back to her home back on Dreary Lane.

Ginger was walking around when the big man called her back.

“Ginger, don’t you want to know where you will be staying while you are here?” he asked.

“Well I suppose that I should. Yes please tell me.” Ginger asked in the nicest tone possible when she was so annoyed.

“Marty, show Ginger where her room will be please.” He ordered.

“Yes right away sir. Come with me Ginger.” Marty said to her. Ginger followed after Marty. Marty led her to a big door. He opened it. “This is where you will be staying.” Marty pointed to a little hallway. “Your room number will be 99952. Hope that you enjoy your stay. If you need anything, just call the number painted on the drawer.”

“Thanks Marty. You’ve been a huge help.” Ginger said in a grateful voice. Ginger walked down the hallway until she came upon her room. On the door knob there was a number key. “Man, why didn’t Marty tell me the code for the door?” Ginger thought angrily. She typed in the numbers 99952(the numbers of her room). The door slowly creaked open. Ginger walked in and thought that she was in heaven. She went and sat down on the bed and it was just her size. Ginger wanted a glass of milk so she looked in the fridge. There was none there. She remembered what Marty had told her. She looked at the number and noticed something familiar about it.

Ginger picked up the phone and dialed the numbers 350. Someone on the other line picked up.
“Can I get a glass of milk please?” Ginger asked. “Oh and could you lower the heat a little it’s getting kind of hot in here. Thanks!” before the person on the other line even had a chance to answer, Ginger hung up. She walked over to the thermostat and checked the temperature. “Hmm. That’s funny that was the phone number too.” Ginger thought. The number on the little screen was 350 degrees. Ginger finally realized what that number meant. That was the number that the muffin man always set the oven to. Ginger was being baked. She looked around for a route of escape. The window was wide open. She ran out the window and fell off the balcony.

Ginger The cookie part 2

Ginger woke up to find herself in a cozy looking place. She looked up and didn’t see anyone around so she stood up. She looked down and saw that she was on a plate. She looked around and saw a little rope hanging down from the table. She went over and looked down. There, sitting under the rope, was a giant dog. She heard snoring and realized that it was the dog.

“Well,” she thought, “if it is sleeping, then maybe I can get down.” She crept to the rope and made sure that no one was coming. She swung the rope a little to make sure that the dog was really asleep. Nothing came from the dog so she started to climb down. All of a sudden, the rope started to slip. She looked down and saw that the dog was rolling over and the rope was under him. The rope was slipping quicker now so Ginger had to hurry up and get down.

She finally reached the floor and she fell and almost broke her arm. The dog woke up to the sound of his food being poured into a bowl. Ginger looked quickly for a place to hide. She hid behind a table leg but she wasn’t quick enough. The dog saw her and started going after her. She was small and couldn’t run very quickly. The dog on the other hand was fast and furious. The dog eventually caught up to her. He sniffed her, and not liking the smell of cinnamon, went to get his food. Ginger let out a sigh of relief. She was safe…for now.

Ginger went to the door and looked outside. She realized that something was different. Now that she looked harder, she realized that she wasn’t in the fairytale world that she knew and loved. She had entered the real world. She thought about it and finally found the answer. That nasty old witch had pushed her into a portal that led to the real world. Ginger was very scared and didn’t know what to do. She looked out the door and saw a big cat sitting on the window facing the door. Surely if Ginger went out the cat would eat her up think that she was a mouse of some sort.

As ginger contemplated what she would do next. She saw a little mouse toy that she could lift up and throw out the door to get the cats attention. Then she could sneak out and get away. She decided to put her plan into action. She had a little bit of trouble getting the mouse to the door. But after about three tries she got it out on the path. The cat looked away from the door and pounced on the mouse. Ginger had to move quickly. She ran out the door and hid behind a bush. The cat saunter into the house like she had nothing to do. Ginger looked to make sure that nothing else would be in her way.

Now Ginger was on her way and she passed a little farm house. She decided to go in and see if she could somehow communicate with the animals. She walked in and all the animals looked so real. Then she remembered that she was in the real world.

“Hello, my name is Ginger. What are your names?” Ginger asked the animals hopefully.

The animals just stared at her in wonder. Ginger heard a snort behind her and noticed a horse looming over her.

“Hello, what’s your name?” Ginger asked hoping that the horse would reply.

The horse just grunted and stared at her. Ginger was scared, so she ran out of the barn. “That was a close call.” Thought Ginger thankfully. She wandered down the little dust road until she came across two little children taking a walk.

“Wow Jenni, look it’s a cookie!” One of the little girls said.

“Wow, want to take it home and make a little home for it outside?” Asked the other little girl.

“Totally, lets go!” said the first little girl. The picked Ginger up and took her took her home. Ginger fell asleep on the way to the little girl’s house. When they got there Ginger was put into a little house that looked like the old witches’ candy house. They set her up in a little chair and left the room for a little while. When Ginger was sure that they were gone, she got up and went out the door. She looked down and saw that she was on a shelf. She thought for a little while and then an idea came to her. If there had been a portal in a house looking just like that one, then maybe there was a portal behind this house. Ginger went around to the back and all she found was a little marshmallow well.

She saw a little button on the ground that said push the button. Ginger pushed the button and the whole room lit up. She looked in front of her and saw that the well had lit up. She was in luck. She climbed into the well and then everything went black.

Ginger The cookie!!

I am going to tell you about a little woman who comes out of a fairy tale. Her name is Ginger Bread Cookie. This is how it all started.

The Muffin Man (who lived on Dreary Lane) was baking a new batch of cookies when his friend called to talk to him. He left the tray of ginger bread men (and women) out on the counter until the oven was preheated just right. He went into the other room. What he didn't know what that once you put the M&M nose on, the cookie comes to life.

Ginger was the only one with her nose. She opened her eyes and realized that she could sit up. She stood up, a little shaky, and attempted to walk to the edge of the tray. She fell a few times on the way there. When she finally reached the edge of the pan, she noticed that she had broken off part of her arm. She heard foot steps, big footsteps. Someone was coming. She had to act fast. She didn't want to be like all the other ginger bread people and go into the oven.

She looked down. She knew that if she jumped, she would break her arm off (remember, she is a cookie...almost) she decided to hide behind a big jar full of candy. When the Muffin Man came in she looked and realized how large he is. She watched in sorrow as all the other ginger bread men and women got their noses and, without a chance to get up, got put into the oven. The Muffin Man walked away while all the other cookies baked.

She walked over to the sink and saw a little string going down to the floor. She went down the "rope". She went to the door. She was very lucky, the door was open just enough for her to slip out. Unfortunately, every time someone walked out the door, even the smallest of people, the door would make a dinging sound.

The bell rang and the Muffin Man walked in the kitchen to see who was there. He saw the little cookie slip out and was very confused. He went after her anyway. When he was putting the cookies in the oven he had noticed that there was one missing. He figured that the cat had eaten it so he made another one.

Well the Muffin Man got very mad. He took his pot and his spoon. He started to chase after Ginger. They passed by Little Miss Muffet’s house, and she and her cat were sitting on the lawn. Her cat started to chase after Ginger and then Little Miss Muffet went after her cat. Now the Muffin Man, Little Miss Muffet and her cat were chasing after Ginger.

Ginger reached a little pond with fish inside the pond and birds on the edge. The birds heard all the noise and looked up. They were very hungry and wanted something to eat. So when they saw a little helpless cookie running, they wanted to eat her up. So the birds took off in the air and started flying after Ginger. Now the Muffin Man, Little Miss Muffet, and her cat, and now all the birds were chasing after her.

After she had run for a long time she was ahead of all the people chasing her. She got to a river and didn’t know how she was going to get across. While she was wondering, a Very chubby piggy came up to her.

“Yum, this cookie looks very yummy. Maybe I can get her to get onto my nose and I can swim her across. Then right as we get to the other side, I will eat her up.” thought the very greedy pig. “Hello…Uhhh what can I call you?” said the pig to Ginger.

“My name is Ginger and I am trying to think of a way to get across this river, so if you please, now is not the best time to talk.” Said the very distressed Ginger.

“Well Ginger, I know a way that you can get across.” Said the pig to Ginger.

“You do? How can I get to the other side? Oh please help me. All these people are chasing after me and I really need help.” Ginger said, almost in tears.

“Well, you get onto my nose and I will swim you across.” Said the pig, now very anxious to eat Ginger. Ginger’s old friend had told her about a pancake she used to know. This pig had eaten the poor old pancake up when he went on the pigs’ nose.

“Uh, well now that I look harder, I see a few stepping stones that I can go across.” Ginger said nervously.

“But what if you can’t get across? Then you will drown.” Said the pig so hungry now that he was drooling. While the pig was making silly reasons why Ginger should get on his nose, Ginger went over to the stepping stones and went across with no problem.

“Thanks for everything pig.” Cried Ginger from the other side of the river. The pig didn’t know who or what had said that, but when he looked down, Ginger was gone. Ginger walked into the woods a little ways and came upon a little house made from candy. Ginger had heard about this house from someone, she didn’t remember much but she did know that it was very bad.

Behind the house she saw a light. She got very curious and went around back to look where the light was coming from. She peeked around the corner and saw a big hole in the ground. She looked in the hole and saw a light. Suddenly something nudged her and she fell into the hole. She looked up and thought that she saw an old witch.
