Ginger the cookie Part 3

Ginger woke up in a world of black. She looked around and saw a little light coming from a few feet away. She went over to it. She looked in it and found out that she was sideways. She decided to take a risk and jump. She jumped and landed on her little cookie head.
“Ouch…where am I?’’ Ginger thought. She looked around but noticed nothing. She couldn’t figure it out. She thought that the portal went to the world that she came from. She got up and started to walk around. She saw a big man sitting in a chair and went up to him.

“Please sir, could you tell me where I am?” She asked him.

“Why of course, you are in the castle in the sky.” The man replied.

“The castle in the sky? What is that?” Ginger asked very confused.

“The castle in the sky is where you go when you jump through an unknown portal. The only way to get out of this world is when you learn your lesson.”

“Learn my lesson? But I don’t have a lesson to learn.” Ginger said as if she was perfect.

“Oh but you do,” the old man said thoughtfully, “you just have to find it.” Ginger walked away very confused. She didn’t think that she had any lessons to learn. Oh well she would try to figure something out. She had to get out of this place and go back to her home back on Dreary Lane.

Ginger was walking around when the big man called her back.

“Ginger, don’t you want to know where you will be staying while you are here?” he asked.

“Well I suppose that I should. Yes please tell me.” Ginger asked in the nicest tone possible when she was so annoyed.

“Marty, show Ginger where her room will be please.” He ordered.

“Yes right away sir. Come with me Ginger.” Marty said to her. Ginger followed after Marty. Marty led her to a big door. He opened it. “This is where you will be staying.” Marty pointed to a little hallway. “Your room number will be 99952. Hope that you enjoy your stay. If you need anything, just call the number painted on the drawer.”

“Thanks Marty. You’ve been a huge help.” Ginger said in a grateful voice. Ginger walked down the hallway until she came upon her room. On the door knob there was a number key. “Man, why didn’t Marty tell me the code for the door?” Ginger thought angrily. She typed in the numbers 99952(the numbers of her room). The door slowly creaked open. Ginger walked in and thought that she was in heaven. She went and sat down on the bed and it was just her size. Ginger wanted a glass of milk so she looked in the fridge. There was none there. She remembered what Marty had told her. She looked at the number and noticed something familiar about it.

Ginger picked up the phone and dialed the numbers 350. Someone on the other line picked up.
“Can I get a glass of milk please?” Ginger asked. “Oh and could you lower the heat a little it’s getting kind of hot in here. Thanks!” before the person on the other line even had a chance to answer, Ginger hung up. She walked over to the thermostat and checked the temperature. “Hmm. That’s funny that was the phone number too.” Ginger thought. The number on the little screen was 350 degrees. Ginger finally realized what that number meant. That was the number that the muffin man always set the oven to. Ginger was being baked. She looked around for a route of escape. The window was wide open. She ran out the window and fell off the balcony.
