Did you know that if it takes you less than five minutes to fall asleep, you are sleep deprived? The ideal time is between 10-15 minutes. Personally it usually takes me about an hour to fall asleep. A lot of my friends don't fall asleep that easily either.
Did you know, the record for the longest period without sleep is 18 days 21 hours and 40 minutes. And that was during a rocking chair marathon. I don't think that I could go that long without sleeping. I really like my sleep, and without it...well lets just say I'm not myself.
Also a new baby typically results in 400-750 hours of lost sleep for the parents in the first year. Isn't that amazing? I don't think that I would be very happy if my child made me loose that much sleep.
Did you know that tiny little luminous rays from a digital alarm clock can be enough to disrupt the sleep cycle even if your not fully awake. The light turns off a "neural switch" in your brain, thus causing levels of a key sleep chemical to decline within minutes. Isn't that amazing? I didn't know that those little lights could mess up your whole sleeping schedule.
OK that's all I have right now but I will definitely add more.
