Latte, my dog, is a corgi and a spaniel mix. She is really cute. We adopted her from Lost Dog Foundation. Here is the story.
Our family wanted another dog because we had to put our old on to sleep. We found out that Lost Dog comes to Petsmart every Saturday. We went to the closest Petsmart and got out of the car. When we looked around, we saw lots of dogs out on the sidewalk with people who worked at Lost Dog or were volunteering there. We looked at all the dogs outside and found a few we liked. My dad wanted a really big "manly" dog, but my mom (who would be around the dog the most becuase she works from home) wanted a small dog.
My mom and I went inside to try to find smaller dogs. I found a really small one that I really liked, but my mom said that it was a little to small. As we walked around some more, we came across the donation dog. The donation dog was the dog that wears a little vest that says donations and the people could give donations for Lost Dog. I started to sit down so I could pet her. We asked the woman what her name was and the woman answered, "Latte."
My mom thought she was the perfect dog. After we got some more information on Latte we decieded that she was the one. We took her over to the adoption booth. They took the little vest off of her and said she was ours, well after we filled out tons of forms. We went around and found a leash, a collar, water and food bowls, and lots and lots of toys. After that we asked what kind of food Latte eats and they gave us the brand name. They called Latte's foster mommy and told her to come. The foster mom gave us a list of things that Latte likes. I looked up into the womans eyes and noticed that she was crying. She had brought her dog with her. Latte and the womans dog got to be very good friends.
Both the dogs were wimpering. We tried to keep the dogs away from each other. After we got everything we needed for Latte, we took her home. I took her into my room and told her to jump up onto my bed. Latte jupmed up and snuggled into my pillows. I went and sat next to her and gave her a big hug. We finally had a dog, and she is ours forever.
