“I have a list of things that I want to do before I die.” Alex said.
“Why didn’t you tell anybody about it?” Alice asked.
“Because I wanted it to be a secret, I didn’t want any help fulfilling it. But now that I don’t have that much time left, I need your help.” Alex said.
“Oh, Alex, don’t be so negative.” Alice said.
“But will you help me do everything on my list...or almost everything?” Alex asked.
“Of course I will. What all is on your list?” Alice asked.
“1. I want to get a tattoo
2. I want to be in two places at once
3. I want to get a dog
4. I want to get an award for something
5. I want to have a star named after me
Those are only some of the things that I want to do. I have a lot more.” Alex said.
“Well...I can help you with only a few of those things. The others you need to do on your own. But let’s start with the tattoo. Come over to my house we might have a few.” Alice said.
“Okay, let me go tell my dad.” Alex walked out of the room. When she came back in, they called Alice’s mom and she came and picked them up. When they got to Alice’s house, they went in the bathroom and looked for tattoos.
“We have butterflies, flowers, and fairies. Choose one or two.” Alice said. Alex chose the butterflies and told Alice where she wanted it. She put in on her shoulder.
“Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! I can cross that one off my list now. What can I do for the award?”
“Well...I think that there’s a writing contest coming up in a few months. You can enter that if you want.”
“Great idea, I’ll start working right away.” Alex said. Alex’s dad came over and picked Alex up.

Three weeks passed. Alex got really sick and was in the hospital. She had entered her paper into the contest and didn’t have the results yet. Alice came into the hospital room with a few packages.
“Alex? I have a surprise for you.” Alice said. She walked over to Alex’s bed and opened a crate. A small golden retriever popped out of the box and jumped onto Ale’s bed. “Her name is Alex too. I got her for you.”“Oh Alice this is amazing! Thank you so much!” Alex said.
“One more thing, but its outside. Can you get up?” Alice asked.
“Yeah I can get up now.” Alex said. She stood up and walked over to the window.
“Look at that star right there. Do you know which one that is?” Alice asked.
“Umm...No I’ve never heard of it. What is it?”
“Its name is Alex. I named it after you.” Alice said in tears now.
“Oh Alice that is probably the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me!” Alex said. She gave her cousin a hug. They walked back over to the bed. Alex went back into bed.
“Alex, how much longer do you have to live?” Alice asked.
“Not very long, but its ok don’t worry. You’ll be fine.” Alex said, in a calm voice. Alice got up and left the room, crying as she left.

After about three hours the doctor came out of the room and told us the news. Alex had gone, and left only her lifeless body behind. Alice cried like there was no tomorrow.
“Why did she have to leave us? Why couldn’t she have stayed?” Alice asked.
About a week later, they got the results for the contest. Alex had won with flying colors. She couldn’t go to receive her award, so Alice went for her.
“Alex was one of the greatest people I have ever known. She helped me with everything. She would have been proud to win this award, but unfortunately she isn’t here anymore. But I’m sure that she is looking down on us right now.”
Life went on as normal, but without Alex to help Alice to get though things.
THE END!
